Essay by Edmondo Mondi

  E.U.R.

EUR (Esposizione Universale Roma) is a neighborhood in the southern part of Rome, built by Mussolini during the 1930s and famous for its rationalist architecture.  It was meant  to show the power of the empire. A whole neighborhood as a piece of propaganda.  This book explores the neighborhood in a visionary and oneiric manner, emphasizing the subliminal messages and the weird references to the Roman empire and its grandiosity.
